On October 12 the El Cerrito Open Space Campaign held Music for Madera, a fundraiser for the purchase of the Madera Open Space. The event featured music from Edie O’Hara, the El Cerrito High School Jazz Quintet, Stefan Lipson, Funkadelicatessen, and Eva and her Flamenco ensemble, as well as food and a silent auction. Below are some pictures of the day. The setup The show begins… Edie O’Hara Folk song-smith Edie O’Hara was the opening act, accompanied by her husband Steve on bass. Next up were the El Cerrito Jazz Quintet Davis Feeley, Alto Sax; Phineas Crisp, Trombone; Gabriel Lee, Drums; Christopher Balderas, Bass; Arnie Co, Piano. Their website. Stefan Lipson was next… but pictures of his performance were the victims of a technical fault with a memory card (drat it). Our apologies to Stephan. Money was raised, good times were had, and there was a definite consensus that we should do this again. So thanks to everyone who came, as well as the artists, the auction contributors and all the volunteers that actually made it happen.
