El Cerrito City Council Candidate Forum

Veterans Memorial Hall, 6401 Stockton Ave.
El Cerrito Trail Trekkers sponsored a forum with this year’s El Cerrito City Council candidates, in partnership with El Cerrito FireSafe Council and El Cerrito/Richmond Annex Walk & Roll.
Our purpose was to learn more about the candidates' positions on open spaces, fire safety, safe streets, managing the Hillside Natural Area, and more. Through this forum we hoped to educate our members and the broader public on the candidates' viewpoints, and to raise awareness among the candidates of these important community issues.
Prior to the forum, candidates were presented with six common questions (two from each of the sponsoring groups). Each candidate had two minutes to respond to each question.
Over 150 people attending the forum live. The forum also was live-streamed and recorded. The full eighty-seven minute forum can be found on the Trail Trekker YouTube page (opens in a new window).
